History & Heraldry was looking for a new way to engage both retail partners and consumers in an increasingly competitive market. The company wanted an experience that could live directly at the point of sale, spark curiosity, and give shoppers a memorable reason to stop, interact, and connect with the brand in a crowded retail environment.
CM&D designed and developed a WebAR activation that allowed customers to scan a QR code on product displays and instantly watch the company’s mascot come to life on their phones. The experience was built to be lightweight, accessible, and easy to share, making it well-suited for retail settings where speed and simplicity matter. Rather than requiring a dedicated app download, the activation used web-based social AR delivery to lower friction and increase the likelihood of participation.
To support the project, CM&D helped identify the right distribution approach based on customer behavior and platform accessibility. Research showed there was an 85% likelihood that History & Heraldry’s target customers would already have a Facebook account, making Spark AR an efficient and cost-effective platform choice for launch. The result was a campaign designed not only to entertain, but to fit the practical realities of retail engagement and shopper behavior.
